I was in touch with Ed and Zvi over the first weekend of October and as you know, our good friend Marty Balk is doing his best to get the parts and his person to Sardinia soon… In the meantime, our aviators will continue to spread the word about the need for more Alzheimer’s research and the cure to other parts of Italy as well… I’ll let them tell you about that in future blogs… Until then, below is a news release about exciting research and results released just last week!

Alzheimer’s drug slows mental decline in trial — but is it a breakthrough?
Researchers are cautiously optimistic following companies’ announcement of positive results for lecanemab.

Some researchers are celebrating this week’s announcement that a drug candidate for Alzheimer’s disease slowed the rate of cognitive decline for people in a clinical trial by 27%. Others, however, remain hesitant, wanting to see data beyond what was disclosed in a 27 September press release. If the results stand up, the treatment — called lecanemab — would be the first of its kind to show a strong signal of cognitive benefit in a robust trial.
