Had a very interesting day. Arrived at the airport around 6:30. Had our flight plan approved and got into our immersion suits for an eight hour flight with a great tail wind. Started the engine. Ready to taxi for takeoff for departure. Tested the HF radio which is mandatory for oceanic transit — and it failed.
Since our satellite phone, which was left at Central Jersey Regional Airport is now on its way to Cascais, Portugal, we needed a back up which we will have by tomorrow. So it looks like we have a two day delay; hopefully will be off before the hurricane arrives on Friday.
