Sardinia

Arrived late afternoon yesterday in Sardinia. Sky Plan who are based in Calgary, Canada, is doing all our overflights, landing permits and ground handling. They put us up at a very nice boutique hotel in a lovely plaza.

Finally slept late 8:30 local time. We are now 6 hrs. ahead of NJ. Rented a car and became tourists around 10:30. Spent the whole day exploring the southern border of Sardinia and met an unbelievable couple. We became friends on Facebook. They gave us good information for our dinner reservation tonight.

Tried to pick up the package that has our satellite phone and extra Bose headset today. Tracking tells us it should arrive today. Wrong hotel, but they are expecting it and we plan to pick it up after dinner.

Tomorrow we plan to explore the east coast of Sardinia.

  1. Latest View from the weather desk….

Our Intrepid Aviators followed ATC’s instructions to fly high and fly far, well farther then a straight line from Portugal to Sardinia. Their route took them north east into some weather over the French/Spanish border then direct to Marseille then due south to the southern tip of Sardinia, all at almost 11000 feet and… and with not too favorable winds!
Ed and Zvi are relaxing now, and we look forward to a new chapter on this journey in Sardinia…meeting new friends, and spreading the word on Alzheimer’s research and the search for the cure.
