6th Day on Sardinia

We expect all the parts that we will need to fix the blow out damage to the wheel to be ready for shipment by tomorrow or Tuesday.

Our dear friend and my co-captain on my last trip Marty Balk has been working feverishly to get us the necessary parts. He understands that after they are on Sardinia it might take customs a week or more to release them for delivery.

Marty feels the only way we can possibly catch up on our itinerary would be if he personally brought them to us via commercial airlines. As soon as he receives all the parts he will schedule an airline flight to Sardinia. Without Marty‘s assistance, our two month journey could possibly be a three month journey or halfway around the world for the cure.

The picture is from yesterday on our road trip. Our new friends and Alzheimer’s supporters: Lex is a British actor and Ruth is a renowned musician.

  1. I was in touch with Ed and Zvi over the first weekend of October and as you know, our good friend Marty Balk is doing his best to get the parts and his person to Sardinia soon… In the meantime, our aviators will continue to spread the word about the need for more Alzheimer’s research and the cure to other parts of Italy as well… I’ll let them tell you about that in future blogs… Until then, below is a news release about exciting research and results released just last week!

Some researchers are celebrating this week’s announcement that a drug candidate for Alzheimer’s disease slowed the rate of cognitive decline for people in a clinical trial by 27%. Others, however, remain hesitant, wanting to see data beyond what was disclosed in a 27 September press release. If the results stand up, the treatment — called lecanemab — would be the first of its kind to show a strong signal of cognitive benefit in a robust trial.
